Lives Changed Together---Let's Make a Difference in the World
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lives Changed Together?
Lives Changed Together is a program that turns everyday relationships into meaningful support for our community.
When someone introduces a friend, colleague, or family member who needs real estate guidance, a donation is generated to support a nonprofit organization.
It’s a way for real estate relationships to create positive impact for educators, students, and community programs.
Who can participate?
Anyone who believes relationships can make a difference.
Many Partners in Change include:
• educators and school staff
• retired educators
• community members
• past real estate clients
• friends and neighbors
• people who simply want to support causes that improve lives
You do not need to work in real estate or know someone buying or selling to join.
What is a Partner in Change?
A Partner in Change is someone who joins the Lives Changed Together community and helps create opportunities for impact through connection.
Partners in Change stay informed about the program and may introduce people they know who are thinking about buying or selling a home. Those introductions help generate donations that support community nonprofits.
Is this a referral program?
Not in the traditional sense.
Lives Changed Together is designed as a community impact program, not a sales referral system.
There is no obligation to refer anyone.
Most Partners in Change simply stay connected and support the mission of turning everyday relationships into community impact.
What if I never refer anyone?
That’s completely fine.
Many Partners in Change participate simply by staying informed and sharing the program with others who may want to be involved.
Participation is about community impact, not expectations.
What are the ways someone can participate?
There are three simple ways Partners in Change participate:
Stay Connected

Join the community and receive occasional updates and homeowner resources.
Make an Introduction

If someone you know needs real estate guidance, simply introduce them.
Share the Program

Some Partners in Change simply help spread the word.
Every connection helps grow the impact.
How are donations generated?
Donations are created when introductions lead to real estate conversations.
• When Cathy meets with someone you refer for a consultation (in person or Zoom), $55 is donated to the nonprofit connected with your group.
• If that person later buys or sells a home and Cathy represents them in the transaction, an additional $500 donation is made to support that organization.
Your introduction becomes a ripple that helps create meaningful support for our community.
Where do the donations go?
Donations support approved nonprofit organizations that serve our community.
One of Cathy’s favorite charities is the Northside Education Foundation, which funds classroom innovation grants that support educators and students across Northside ISD.
Lives Changed Together also supports:
• other school district education foundations
• community nonprofits
• programs that support families, youth, and education
You can view the full list on the Approved Nonprofits page.
Why focus on education?
Cathy spent 20 years in education, primarily in Northside ISD, and continues to serve on the Northside Education Foundation Board of Directors.
Through that work, she has seen firsthand how much impact teacher grants and community support can have.
When teachers have resources and opportunities to innovate, students benefit—and so does the entire community.
Why don’t donations go to churches?
Faith and religious communities are deeply meaningful to many people. At the same time, faith traditions are also very personal and can sometimes become points of disagreement among others.
Because Lives Changed Together brings together people from many backgrounds, the program primarily directs donations to public charities and community nonprofits that broadly benefit the community. This approach helps ensure the program remains welcoming and comfortable for everyone who participates.
However, Cathy also believes strongly in supporting the church community where she personally worships and serves.
For that reason, donations connected to church initiatives are directed only to the congregation she personally attends. In those cases, separate programs or editions may be created specifically to support that church community.
This allows the program to remain inclusive while still honoring the church that is personally meaningful to her.
Does joining mean I’ll receive marketing messages?
Partners in Change receive occasional real estate updates, homeowner resources, and program news.
You may unsubscribe at any time.
The goal is simply to stay connected—not to overwhelm you with messages.
Is there any cost to join?
No.
Joining Lives Changed Together is completely free.
The program creates community impact through connections, not financial contributions from participants.
Why did Cathy create this program?
After a 20-year career in education and many years serving the Northside Education Foundation, Cathy wanted to align her real estate business with the causes she cares about most.
Lives Changed Together was created to turn everyday relationships into meaningful support for educators, students, and community organizations.
It’s simply an extension of her lifelong commitment to service.
